Screening And AssemblY

CAPABILITIES - SCREENING

Acme Finishing Company, Inc. has one production line that is dedicated to screening and pad printing. The pad printing production line allows Acme Finishing Company, Inc. to serve our customers with quick turnaround times and the ability to quickly screen parts with very high volumes. We can print on a wide variety of substrates, including chromated and plated surfaces. We offer competitive pricing for screening and we have the ability to fabricate screens in house, which enables us to better serve our customers.

WHAT IS SCREEN PRINTING?

Screen printing consists of three elements: the screen which is the image carrier; the squeegee; and ink. The screen printing process uses porous mesh stretched tightly over a frame made of wood or metal. The mesh is made of porous fabric. A stencil is photo-chemically produced on the screen. The stencil defines the image to be printed.
Screen printing ink is applied to the substrate by placing the screen over the material. Ink with a paint-like consistency is placed onto the top of the screen. Ink is then forced through the fine mesh openings using a squeegee that is drawn across the screen, applying pressure thereby forcing the ink through the open areas of the screen. Ink will pass through only in areas where no stencil is applied, thus forming an image on the substrate. The diameter of the threads and the thread count of the mesh will determine how much ink is deposited onto the substrate.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAD PRINTING AND SCREEN PRINTING?

Pad Printing is a gravure printing process that employs the use of a silicon pad to place a graphic or image onto irregular, flat, or curved surfaces. With the use of pad printing there are no surface limitations. Pad printing images can be printed on curved or 3D surfaces and the resolution on pad printing is much higher than screen printing.

CAPABILITIES - ASSEMBLY

To better serve our customers, we offer a variety of services upon completion of painting or powder coating. Light assembly of finished components of cabinets, enclosures, and many other parts is a value added service we offer our customers. This allows our customers to decrease their transportation and handling costs, along with allowing quicker lead times to the end user of the finished product. Additionally, we offer final packaging of finished goods including adding hardware and instructions to the final pack. We have a dedicated assembly area in which we inventory assembled product throughout the process, and stock hardware provided by our customers for their assembly needs. Offering this solution has proven valuable to our customers and allowed us to differentiate ourselves in the very competitive finishing industry. Acme Finishing is your one stop shop for finishing, light assembly, final packaging.
